The EUNICE Alliance, in which the University of Peloponnese participates, enters its second phase with the aim of empowering students to address contemporary social challenges and opportunities.
It is recalled that the second phase of EUNICE-European University for Customized Education will start in November 2023 with funding of 14 million from the European Commission.
The EUNICE consortium consists of ten European Universities responsible for the education of 150,000 students. It includes 60 faculties, 15,000 teachers and administrative staff and scientific work reflected in more than 280,000 scientific publications.
Catania, 20 September 2023 - EUNICE European University held a festive General Assembly at the University of Catania (Italy) on the eve of the third anniversary of the launch of the project and before the start of its new phase in which the University of Peloponnese participates as a partner. The Rectors and representatives of the ten Universities of the Alliance took stock of the progress of the project so far and assessed its future course, with particular emphasis on the development of joint European programmes and degrees, and cooperation in the field of research.
The University of Peloponnese was represented by the Rector, Professor Athanasios Katsis, the Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs, International Relations and Extroversion, Mrs. Eftalia (Elia) Hatzigianni, the Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mr. Nikolaos Voros and Lecturer Mrs. Areti Vogopoulou.
In his address, the Rector of the University of Peloponnese referred to EUNICE as a tool for the development and internationalization of the University, while he made special reference to the particularly high response of the students of the University of Peloponnese to the common courses offered by the European University EUNICE.
The programme included, apart from the Rectors' meeting, meetings between the Vice Rectors and other representatives of the universities for the development of joint programmes in the fields of research, innovation and mobility, as well as meetings with student representatives.
