Ο Δρ. Παναγιώτης Αλεφραγκής διαθέτει δίπλωμα και διδακτορικό από το Τμ. Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών & Τεχν. Η/Υ του Παν. Πατρών και είναι Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής του Τμ. Ηλεκτρολόγων Μηχανικών & Μηχανικών Η/Υ του Πανεπιστημίου Πελοποννήσου. Διαθέτει πάνω από 25ετή εμπειρία στην ανάπτυξη λογισμικού και τον σχεδιασμό και υλοποίηση αλγορίθμων για επίλυση προβλημάτων βελτιστοποίησης μεγάλης κλίμακας σε πολλές περιοχές εφαρμογής. Έχει συγγράψει πάνω από 60 άρθρα σε έγκυρα επιστημονικά περιοδικά και πρακτικά συνεδρίων και διαθέτει εκτεταμένη διεθνή εμπειρία από τη συμμετοχή σε πολυάριθμα εθνικά και ευρωπαϊκά ερευνητικά προγράμματα. Τα επιστημονικά του ενδιαφέροντα επικεντρώνονται στις περιοχές της τεχνολογίας λογισμικού για επίλυση προβλημάτων βελτιστοποίησης, παράλληλης και κατανεμημένης επεξεργασίας, γλώσσες προγραμματισμού και μεταγλωττιστές, ακέραια και συνδυαστική βελτιστοποίηση και μεταευρετικοί αλγόριθμοι. Ο Π. Αλεφραγκής υπήρξε διαχειριστής της εταιρείας Lyseis Ltd, μιας εξειδικευμένης εταιρείας λογισμικού για επίλυση προβλημάτων αεροπορικών εταιρειών με πελάτες μεταξύ άλλων τις εταιρείες Lufthansa AG και AIMS και επικεφαλής των ενοτήτων βελτιστοποίησης των FP7 ALMA, Η2020 ARGO και Η2020 Enerman.

Prof. Panayiotis Alefragis has more than 25 years of experience in software engineering and the design of optimization algorithms for very large scale problems in various application areas. He holds a Diploma (1995) and a PhD(2000) in Electrical & Computer Engineering from University of Patras. His research interests include software engineering, high performance and cloud computing, programming langu­a­ges and compilers, resource scheduling algorithms, integer and combinatorial optimization, mobile and embedded applications and energy markets. He has co-authored over 60 articles in refereed scientific journals & conference proceedings and he has extensive practical experience by participating in various national and international research projects in the above areas. Prof. Alefragis was one of the founders and the Managing Director of Lyseis Ltd, a specialized software company for optimization software for the airline industry, with clients including, among others, Lufthansa AG and AIMS.
