Erasmus+ at the University of the Peloponnese

The University of Peloponnese has been participating in the Erasmus Programme since 2007, taking for granted that the successful implementation of the actions is a key axis of its internationalisation strategy. 

The University of Peloponnese has been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (European Charter for Higher Education, ECHE).

The policy of the University of Peloponnese for participation in the Erasmus Programme is based on the axes of internationalisation and extroversion and has as main objectives:


Increasing the participation of the members of the Academic Community (students and teaching/administrative staff) in mobility actions, aiming at the acquisition of educational and work experience in a European and international environment

  • The participation and strengthening of the University's departments and faculties in the Erasmus+ Programme
  • Participation of the University in international actions and alliances of European universities
  • Strengthening existing and establishing new (foreign language) postgraduate programmes
  • Developing international partnerships with third country institutions in order to further strengthen the international impact and visibility of the Institution

At the same time, the participation of the University of the Peloponnese in the Erasmus+ Programme ensures the process of implementation of the commitments arising from the Quality Policy, according to which the Institution is committed:

  • to monitor - at European and international level - developments in education and to adapt its curricula accordingly
  • to produce high-quality research work in cutting-edge scientific areas
  • take account of the changing needs of society
  • to evaluate at regular intervals the progress of its activities and the achievement of its objectives through institutionalised procedures as defined in the Foundation's accredited Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS).
  • to adapt its activities with the aim of continuous development and improvement.

In particular, through the Erasmus+ Programme, more than 550 students of the University of the Peloponnese have moved for studies or internships and more than 150 members of teaching and administrative staff, while the University of the Peloponnese has received more than 250 students from foreign universities for studies or internships and more than 150 members of teaching and administrative staff for teaching or training.


The departments of the University of the Peloponnese have concluded numerous inter-institutional agreements in most of its disciplines with universities of the Programme countries.
