The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Commission has the purpose of continuing and enriching the activities of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit (IEU) of the University of the Peloponnese. The commission aims to implement the following tasks:
-Organization of seminars, scientific conferences, symposiums, summer schools, and conferences related to Entrepreneurship and Innovation. These events will involve personnel from businesses, successful entrepreneurs, and specialized professors from Greek and foreign universities.
-Provision of expertise (Know-how), transfer of best practices, and organization of mentoring in matters of creating Business Plans, finding innovative ideas, and fostering creativity. The recipients of these activities are students of the University of the Peloponnese.
-Conducting competitions for the best business idea, involving students in collaboration with entrepreneurs from the Peloponnese Region.
-Collaboration with organizations and businesses both domestically and internationally, cultivating Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This includes other universities, international economic organizations, chambers of commerce, municipalities, regions, non-governmental organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, large enterprises, and multinational corporations. The goal is to pursue joint actions to generate revenue for the University of the Peloponnese.
-Discovery of innovative proposals and initiatives from members of the academic community (faculty, researchers, etc.) and students, supporting their implementation and particularly their funding.
-Establishment of a Business Incubator (and in the long term, a Scientific-Technological Park in the Peloponnese Region) and connecting the research activities of the University of the Peloponnese with the productive base and entrepreneurs in Greece and abroad.
-Revenues generated from Entrepreneurship and Innovation activities (participation in programs, sponsorships, donations, etc.) could cover general expenses of the University of the Peloponnese.
