Personal Data Policy

 

The University of the Peloponnese is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of users of its online services, and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016). It does not disclose personal data to third parties and applies reasonable policies and technical and organizational measures in order to protect the personal data of users.

The University is a "public body" within the meaning of article 4 of Law No. 4624/2019 and is therefore in principle entitled to process personal data, provided that this is necessary for the fulfilment of The processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of (Article 6 § 1.e of the GDPR and Article 5 of Law No. 4624/2019).

The University's obligation to inform data subjects about the processing of their personal data is a manifestation of the obligation of transparency in the context of the aforementioned general principle of "lawfulness, objectivity and transparency" and therefore constitutes a fundamental condition for the University to comply and to be able to demonstrate its compliance ('accountability') with the GDPR and national legislation on the protection of personal data personal data protection.
