The University of the Peloponnese participated in the General Assembly of the European University for Customised Education - EUNICE, hosted by Poznan University of Technology in Poznan, Poland, from 18 to 20 May 2026. The first General Assembly of the year brought together Rectors and Vice-Rectors from the ten member universities, members of the EUNICE Board of Directors, the EUNICE Student Advisory Board (ESAB), and the Alliance’s working groups, as well as representatives of EUNICE associated partners.

The University of the Peloponnese was represented by the Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs, International Relations and Outreach, Professor Efthalia Chatzigianni (BoR, BoD, VR-E), Lecturer Areti Vogopoulou (PMT, WP4), Professor Athanasios Strigas (WP2), Ms Eleni Manolopoulou (WP4), Ms Asimina-Eleni Koutsopanagou (T5.2, T5.3), and the student Theodosis-Dionysios Maroudas (Department of Political Science and International Relations), member of the EUNICE Student Advisory Board (ESAB).

During the meetings, participants focused on the further development of common strategies, the exploration of new directions, and the exchange of experiences aimed at strengthening inter-university cooperation within the framework of the EUNICE European University.

A major milestone of the Assembly was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ten member universities of the EUNICE Alliance and the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (Brazil), in implementation of a relevant decision taken during the previous General Assembly, hosted by the University of the Peloponnese (October 2025). The inclusion of the new partner further reinforces the international dimension of the EUNICE Alliance and expands opportunities for academic and research collaboration.

The General Assembly concluded in a spirit of cooperation and mutual commitment, reaffirming the Alliance members’ shared vision for a more open, innovative, and internationally oriented academic environment.

The University of the Peloponnese, as an active member of EUNICE, continues to contribute to the Alliance’s development and strengthening, while further enhancing its internationalisation and outreach, which are among the institution’s key strategic priorities.
