Purpose
The purpose of the Special Account of Research Funds is the management and allocation of funds originating from any funding source, as defined in Article 230 of Law 4957/2022. These funds are intended to cover expenses of any kind necessary for the execution of research, educational, training, development projects, as well as projects of continuous training, seminars, and conferences. This includes the provision of scientific, technological, and artistic services, conducting special and clinical studies, carrying out tests, measurements, laboratory examinations, and analyses, providing opinions, drafting specifications on behalf of third parties, designing and implementing scientific, research, cultural, and development programs, as well as other related services for the benefit of the University of the Peloponnese.
Administration of Special Account of Research Funds & Supervision
The governing and management bodies of Special Account of Research Funds are:
a. The Research Committee
b. The President of the Research Committee
The Board of Administration:
a. Approves the research strategy of the University of Peloponnese within the framework of its strategic plan
b. Approves the Funding Guide of Special Account of Research Funds.
c. Oversees and monitors the operation of Special Account of Research Funds.
d. Approves, upon recommendation of the Research Committee, the initial summary and detailed budget of Special Account of Research Funds, its financial statements, and results of its operation
e. Approves, following the recommendation of the Research Committee, the percentage withholding rate (%) of the revenues for each category of projects retained in favor of Special Account of Research Funds of the University of Peloponnese, as well as the distribution of annual revenues and the use of Special Account of Research Funds' financial assets
f. Appoints the members of the Research Committee, following the recommendation of the Rector and the proposal of the Senate of each School
g. Appoints the sworn auditors who conduct its annual audit
h. Approves the establishment or participation in technology companies or other companies, following the recommendation of the Research Committee, and appoints the representatives of the University of Peloponnese in their governing bodies
i. Approves the report of the Research Committee's activities
