Technology Transfer Unit

The Technology Transfer Unit (TTU) of the University of the Peloponnese was established in 2022 with the aim of supporting and leveraging academic research, as well as connecting with the market. Specifically, it serves the academic and research staff of the University, which has generated potentially commercially exploitable research results, as well as individuals and organizations from the private and public sectors interested in collaborating with the University of the Peloponnese on research utilization and technology transfer matters.

Key Services:

A) Intellectual Property Management and Market Linkage: The TTU conducts an assessment of the commercial maturity of intellectual property, formulates a strategy for commercializing rights, facilitates the final commercial exploitation of intellectual property, and negotiates the formation of technology transfer agreements.

B) Innovative Ideas and Business Acceleration: The TTU contributes to the identification of entrepreneurial and innovative ideas arising from the academic research of the University of Peloponnese. The fundamental principle of the TTU is the development and provision, to researchers and research teams, of a business acceleration framework in collaboration with specialized consultants. This way, researchers and research teams can benefit from entrepreneurial methodology by shaping and specifying:

  • Their business model using methodological tools,
  • Feedback on their innovative idea,
  • Exploration of market needs,
  • and the formulation of their desired business plan.

C) Support for Research Activities - Education and Information: The basic strategy of this axis is the continuous updating and training of the entire academic community of the institution on research achievements, results, collaboration possibilities, and funding opportunities with private and public entities, contributing to the institution's external orientation and optimal funding.
