With success and prospects for the academic community, the informative event organized on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, by the University of the Peloponnese (UoP) in collaboration with the Fulbright Foundation on the topic "Masters in the U.S. & Fulbright Scholarships''. The event was held with the attendance of students, doctoral candidates as well as teaching and research staff of the UoP in the Auditorium of the School of Economics & Technology of the University of Peloponnese, but also via video conference, thus encouraging the participation of those interested from all 6 cities where it maintains Departments of the University of the Peloponnese. The event was coordinated by the Vice-Rector of Administrative Affairs, International Relations and Outreach of the University of the Peloponnese, Professor Efthalia Chatzigianni, who emphasized that the Fulbright Foundation scholarships, among others, open new opportunities and create an environment of accessibility and equal participation for all, strengthening the internationalization of the UoP and facilitating the possibility of choosing to study at American universities and research centers.

The event concluded with the Assistant Professor of the Department of History, Archeology and Cultural Heritage Management, Dr. Maria Kouri, who as a former scholar and current Ambassador of the Fulbright Foundation at the UoP, shared her experience, emphasizing that Fulbright does not only promote academic excellence, but also a deep commitment to equality and inclusion, ensuring the academic and professional careers of its fellows.

It is worth pointing out that the participants in the event were also informed about the program of the U.S. Embassy in Athens with the title "AMBASSADORS FUND FOR SUMMER WORK TRAVEL (SWT) SCHOLARSHIP", with which ten (10) scholarships are offered to Greek students of all Greek Universities who are interested in working during the summer of 2025 (up to 4 months ), in entry-level seasonal jobs with a high level of interaction with their counterparts from America and around the world.

In this light, the informational actions of the University of the Peloponnese have increased in the last two years, to remove obstacles and benefit more beneficiaries: students, members of the teaching and research staff. As an example, a recent success of PaPel noted by Ms. Angeliki Fotopoulou, an undergraduate student of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, who was selected, through many of her co-candidates from Greek academic institutions, to participate in the competitive program of the American Fulbright Foundation, Study of the United States Institutes–SUSIs for Student Leaders, in "Environmental Issues" Institute.

This event is part of the internationalization actions of the University of the Peloponnese in the context of strengthening relations and collaborations with institutions, where through the exchange of opinions, experiences and good practices opportunities are offered for the participation of all members of the academic community in international mobility.
