Η Παρασκευή Ραυτοπούλου είναι μέλος ΕΔΙΠ στο Τμήμα Πληροφορικής και Τηλεπικοινωνιών του Πανεπιστημίου Πελοποννήσου και μέλος του Εργαστηρίου Συστημάτων Λογισμικού και Βάσεων Δεδομένων (SoDa.Lab) από τον Αύγουστο του 2008.

Έλαβε το πτυχίο της στην Επιστήμη Υπολογιστών από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης το 2000, το μεταπτυχιακό δίπλωμα στην Πληροφορική το 2003 και το διδακτορικό της στην περιοχή Διαχείριση Πληροφορίας το 2009 από το Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης. Την περίοδο 2007–2008 διετέλεσε επισκέπτρια ερευνήτρια στην Τμήμα Βάσεων Δεδομένων και Πληροφοριακών Συστημάτων του Max Planck Institute for Informatics (MPII) στη Γερμανία, υπό την επίβλεψη του Καθηγητή Gerhard Weikum.

Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζουν στα κατανεμημένα συστήματα και τη διαχείριση μεγάλων δεδομένων, με επεκτάσεις στην εξόρυξη δεδομένων, την ανωνυμοποίηση δεδομένων, τα κοινωνικά δίκτυα, τις βάσεις δεδομένων και τις ψηφιακές βιβλιοθήκες. Τα τελευταία χρόνια, η έρευνά της επικεντρώνεται και σε εφαρμογές στους τομείς των έξυπνων πόλεων, των ευφυών μεταφορών και της έξυπνης γεωργίας.

Έχει (συν-)δημοσιεύσει περισσότερες από 35 εργασίες σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και συνέδρια και έχει συμμετάσχει σε περισσότερα από 10 ερευνητικά έργα χρηματοδοτούμενα από ευρωπαϊκούς και εθνικούς πόρους. Έχει διατελέσει κριτής σε πλήθος επιστημονικών συνεδρίων και περιοδικών και δρα ως εξωτερική αξιολογήτρια ερευνητικών προτάσεων και έργων της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής.

Διαθέτει εκτενή διδακτική εμπειρία, έχοντας διδάξει αυτοδύναμα προπτυχιακά μαθήματα στο Τμήμα της, καθώς και μαθήματα σε δύο μεταπτυχιακά προγράμματα σπουδών. Έχει επιβλέψει περισσότερες από 20 προπτυχιακές και μεταπτυχιακές εργασίες και έχει λάβει δύο εθνικές ερευνητικές υποτροφίες.

Paraskevi Raftopoulou is a Research and Teaching Faculty Member at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of the Peloponnese and a member of the Software and Database Systems Laboratory (SoDa.Lab) since August 2008.

She received her BSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete in 2000, and her MSc degree in Computer Engineering (2003) and PhD degree in Information Management (2009) from the Technical University of Crete. During 2007–2008, she was a visiting researcher at the Databases and Information Systems Department of the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (MPII), under the supervision of Prof. Gerhard Weikum.

Her research interests focus on distributed systems and large-scale data management, with extensions to data mining, data anonymization, social networks, databases, and digital libraries. In recent years, her work has also addressed applications in smart cities, intelligent transportation systems, and smart agriculture.

Dr. Raftopoulou has (co-)authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conferences and has participated in over 10 European and national research projects. She has served as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals and conferences and acts as an external evaluator of research proposals and funded projects for the European Commission.

She has extensive teaching experience and has independently taught undergraduate courses in her department, as well as courses in two postgraduate programs. She has supervised more than 20 undergraduate and postgraduate theses and has been awarded two national research scholarships.
