Διαθέτει περισσότερα από δέκα χρόνια κλινικής εμπειρίας ως λογοθεραπεύτρια με παιδιά και ενήλικες, έχοντας εργαστεί με άτομα με αναπηρία και σε κέντρα αποκατάστασης ενηλίκων. Έχει πιστοποιηθεί σε θεραπευτικές προσεγγίσεις για τις διαταραχές φωνής και ροής της ομιλίας, καθώς και στην επαυξητική και εναλλακτική επικοινωνία.
Έχει συμμετάσχει σε εθνικά και διεθνή ερευνητικά έργα και συνεργασίες στον χώρο της αφασίας και των διαταραχών επικοινωνίας. Μεταξύ αυτών περιλαμβάνονται το CACLA – Clinical Application of Computational Linguistics in Aphasia, χρηματοδοτούμενο από το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας (ΕΛ.ΙΔ.Ε.Κ.), το RELEASE-2, καθώς και διεθνείς δράσεις εκπαίδευσης επαγγελματιών υγείας και φοιτητών στο πλαίσιο του KomTil. Έχει δημοσιεύσει ερευνητικές εργασίες σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και κεφάλαια σε ελληνόγλωσσα και διεθνή επιστημονικά συγγράμματα, ενώ το ερευνητικό της έργο έχει παρουσιαστεί σε ελληνικά και διεθνή επιστημονικά συνέδρια.
Στο πλαίσιο της διεθνούς επιστημονικής της δραστηριότητας, διετέλεσε Congress Co-Chair του International Aphasia Rehabilitation Conference (IARC) 2026. Στο Πανεπιστήμιο Πελοποννήσου συμμετέχει στη θεωρητική και κλινική εκπαίδευση των φοιτητών, στον συντονισμό και την εποπτεία της κλινικής και Πρακτικής Άσκησης και στην επίβλεψη πτυχιακών εργασιών. Στο παρελθόν έχει επίσης διδάξει στο Τμήμα Λογοθεραπείας του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών.
Dr Evangelia-Antonia (Eva) Efstratiadou is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at the University of the Peloponnese. She completed her MSc at City University of London in 2011 and her PhD at the same university in 2018. Her doctoral research was conducted within the framework of the THALES research project “Levels of impairment in Greek aphasic speech: Relationships with processing deficits, brain regions and therapeutic approaches” of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She was awarded a UK scholarship to support her doctoral studies.
She has more than ten years of clinical experience as a speech and language therapist working with children and adults, including people with disabilities and adults in rehabilitation settings. As part of her continuing professional development, she has received specialised training and certification in therapeutic approaches for voice disorders, fluency disorders, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
She has participated in national and international research projects and collaborations in the fields of aphasia and communication disorders. These include CACLA – Clinical Application of Computational Linguistics in Aphasia, funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.), RELEASE-2, as well as international initiatives involving the training of healthcare professionals and students within the KomTil programme. She has published research articles in international peer-reviewed journals and contributed chapters to Greek and international academic books. Her research has also been presented at national and international scientific conferences.
As part of her international academic activities, she served as Congress Co-Chair of the International Aphasia Rehabilitation Conference (IARC) 2026. At the University of the Peloponnese, she is actively involved in the theoretical and clinical education of Speech and Language Therapy students, the coordination and supervision of clinical education and student placements, and the supervision of undergraduate dissertations. She has previously taught in the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Patras.
Η ερευνητική της δραστηριότητα εστιάζει στη διερεύνηση της αποτελεσματικότητας λογοθεραπευτικών παρεμβάσεων για τη βελτίωση των γλωσσικών και επικοινωνιακών δεξιοτήτων ατόμων με αφασία και άλλες διαταραχές επικοινωνίας, καθώς και στην επίδραση των παρεμβάσεων αυτών στην ευημερία, την κοινωνική συμμετοχή και την ποιότητα ζωής. Στα επιστημονικά της ενδιαφέροντα περιλαμβάνονται επίσης η μελέτη της ποιότητας ζωής και της λειτουργικής επικοινωνίας μετά από αγγειακό εγκεφαλικό επεισόδιο και αφασία, η εκπαίδευση συνομιλητών και επαγγελματιών υγείας (Communication Partner Training), καθώς και η μελέτη των διαταραχών λόγου, γλώσσας και επικοινωνίας σε όλο το ηλικιακό φάσμα, συμπεριλαμβανομένων αναπτυξιακών και νευροαναπτυξιακών διαταραχών.
Τα τελευταία χρόνια, το ερευνητικό της ενδιαφέρον επεκτείνεται στην ανάπτυξη και ψυχομετρική αξιολόγηση εργαλείων γλωσσικής αξιολόγησης και στην αξιοποίηση της υπολογιστικής γλωσσολογίας, γλωσσικών σωμάτων δεδομένων και εφαρμογών τεχνητής νοημοσύνης για την αξιολόγηση, ανάλυση και αποκατάσταση των διαταραχών λόγου και επικοινωνίας.
Her research focuses on investigating the effectiveness of speech and language therapy interventions aimed at improving the language and communication skills of people with aphasia and other communication disorders, as well as the impact of these interventions on well-being, social participation, and quality of life. Her research interests also include quality of life and functional communication following stroke and aphasia, Communication Partner Training for communication partners and healthcare professionals, and the study of speech, language, and communication disorders across the lifespan, including developmental and neurodevelopmental disorders.
More recently, her research interests have expanded to the development and psychometric evaluation of language assessment tools and the application of computational linguistics, language corpora, and artificial intelligence to the assessment, analysis, and rehabilitation of speech, language, and communication disorders.
