On Monday, August 26, 2024, the President of the Pan Arcadian Federation of America, Mrs. Angeliki Vourna, the President of the Pan Arcadian Federation of Canada, Mrs. Nota Iliopoulou and the Governor of the Eastern State of the Federation, Mr. Christos Vournas, met in the Rector's building, in Tripoli, the Vice Rector of Administrative Affairs for International Relations & Outreach of the University of the Peloponnese and member of the Board of Directors of the European University EUNICE, Professor Efthalia Chatzigianni.
During the meeting, the Vice Rector presented the undergraduates and graduates programs of study offered and the innovative actions of the University of the Peloponnese and was informed about the initiatives and achievements of the Pan Arcadian Federations of America and Canada, focusing on the great challenge of attracting and redefining their communication with young people from Arcadian and non-Arcadian origin, structuring a program of teaching and dissemination of Greek culture, which is attractive and efficient and which will attract their interest to learn more, to visit, to discover and to love modern Greece.
A key point of the meeting was the prospect of seeking cooperation from all participants, with the wish for signing, soon, Memoranda of Understanding and other cooperation arrangements, to facilitate the mobility of young Arcades from the two countries, but also other academic and research activities between the University and the Pan Arcadian Federations of America and Canada.
Also, the necessity of developing exchange programs for students, academic members and staff, generally people from Arcadia and vice versa was discussed, while leveraging the relationship of the Pan Arcadian Federations of America and Canada with distinguished Universities of both countries.
The meeting was organized by Mrs. Paraskevi Chaida, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, whose work is supported by the Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs of International Relations & Outreach, Professor Mrs. Efthalia Chatzigianni.
