The University of the Peloponnese participated in the 25th of the Departments of Public and International Relations and European Programs/Erasmus Offices, which was organized by the University of Thessaly in the city of Volos, from June 19 to 21, 2025. The aim of this well-established event is to foster the exchange of ideas and experiences, inform administrative staff on current developments in the field, present good practices, and formulate proposals for the improvement of services, ultimately enhancing the image of Greek and Cypriot Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
During the two-day conference, discussions focused on strengthening the outreach of universities through collaborations with local stakeholders, international relations, and European programmes. Special emphasis was placed on participation in Erasmus+ programmes (KA1, KA2, KA171), in European University Alliances, as well as contemporary issues concerning staffing models and the branding of public higher education. In addition, the importance of volunteerism, equal accessibility, and the creation of a network of Public Relations Departments among Greek and Cypriot HEIs was highlighted.
The University of the Peloponnese was represented by the Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs, International Relations and Outreach, Professor Efthalia (Elia) Chatzigianni, and the Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, Ms. Paraskevi Chaida who participated as invited speakers in the panels titled “European Alliances” and “Contemporary Staffing Models of University Public Relations Departments,” respectively.
The active participation of the University of the Peloponnese in such events reaffirms the institution’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its national and international presence, enhancing its outreach, and continuously improving the quality of the administrative and academic services it offers to its academic community.
