The University of the Peloponnese participated for the second consecutive year in the sport event EUNICE Alliance Games. The event was held at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (Portugal) from 10 to 14 November 2025, within the framework of the European University for Customised Education- EUNICE. The event brought together sports teams from the ten member universities of the alliance, competing in volleyball and/or basketball tournaments.

The University of the Peloponnese took part in the mixed 3×3 basketball tournament, represented by students Valentina Thoria, Andriana Papaspiliou, Stefanos Filippopoulos, and Dimitrios Maragkoudakis, finally securing fifth place in the final ranking.

The University of Cantabria (Spain) achieved first place, followed by the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (France) in second place and the Poznań University of Technology (Poland) in third.

This year’s edition of the event was integrated into the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled “Communication in Sport”, offering students the opportunity to participate not only in the athletic tournament but also in an educational programme with a European dimension. Representing the University of the Peloponnese, Professor Panagiota Antonopoulou, Department of Sports Organization and Management, contributed to the teaching of the programme, participating in both virtual and onsite components.

Congratulations to all participants!
