The "MEET & GREET" reception event, organized by the International Relations team of the University of the Peloponnese (UoP), for incoming ERASMUS+ students, teaching staff, and administrative personnel, was held with great success on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

The fourth such reception event organized by the UoP saw the enthusiastic participation of incoming students from universities in 10 countries and the EUNICE European University Alliance. These students are currently enrolled in the UoP Schools located in Tripoli, Kalamata, Corinth, Nafplio, and Patras.

The objective of the event was to foster acquaintance, enhance networking, and facilitate the smooth integration of the ERASMUS+ participants into the University community. The meeting took place at the Officers' Club of the Tripoli, in a warm and welcoming environment, where participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences, learn about the academic culture of the University of the Peloponnese, and forge new cooperative ties.

The organization of the event underscored the University's outward orientation and its dedication to enhancing internationalization through the ERASMUS+ programme. The response of the incoming students and the warm atmosphere confirmed the University of the Peloponnese's commitment to extroversion, internationalization, and strengthening exchange programmes.

The event programme included, among other activities, an excellent guided tour in English of the Archaeological Museum of Tripoli by Ms. Th. Christofilou, archaeologist and employee of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Arcadia. During the tour, the rich collections of findings from excavations in various locations in Arcadia, spanning from the Neolithic period to late antiquity, were presented.

This was followed by lunch at the particularly welcoming venue of the Tripoli Officers' Club, during which greetings were addressed by the Rector of the University, Professor Athanasios Katsis, the Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs, International Relations and Extroversion, Professor Efthalia (Elia) Chatzigianni, and the Deputy Mayor of Culture of the Municipality of Tripoli, Eleni Karountzou.

As part of the event, souvenir gifts were also presented to the incoming students.

The event was honored by the presence of the representative of the Italian Embassy for the Southern Peloponnese, Ms. M. Boicelli; the Erasmus+ and EUNICE Academic Coordinators of the UoP, namely Ms. M. Galani, Ms. A. Stourna, Mr. Al. Michopoulos, Mr. Th. Alexopoulos; and members of the University's educational, research, and administrative staff.

The event was organized by the University's International Relations Office, headed by Ms. Georgia Papadopoulou, Deputy Head, with the contribution of the UoP Erasmus+ offices in Kalamata (Ms. S. Babali), Nafplio (Ms. V. Gionna), and Patras (Mr. G. Inglesis), as well as the UoP EUNICE Team (Ms. V. Kalogeropoulou). The work of all the aforementioned University units is coordinated and enhanced by the responsible Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs, International Relations and Extroversion, Professor Efthalia (Elia) Chatzigianni.

It is worth noting the significant contribution of all UoP Erasmus+ and EUNICE Academic Coordinators in organizing the event, as well as in the planning and implementation of high-quality mobility activities.

Special thanks for the cooperation and congratulations are extended to the Director of the Tripoli Officers' Club, Lieutenant (Eng.) P. Chatzigiannis, and all uniformed personnel who provided unwavering assistance throughout the event.
