Dr Epaminondas Kartsonas,
Assistant Professor, Dr.; Laboratory of Floriculture, Department of Agriculture, University of the Peloponnese, Antikalamos, 241 00 Kalamata, Greece.
Born in Athens, Greece; First Degree in Crop Science (AUA, 1996); Ph.D. in Floriculture (Micropropagation of endangered plant species with floricultural interesting, Agricultural, University of Athens, Greece, 2008).
He specializes in floricultural crops with emphasis on propagation/micropropagation, seed germination, growth and flowering manipulation, and in urban and landscape ornamental horticulture, as well as garden and park design. He is teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses on floriculture, ornamental plants, Plants propagation methods, landscape architecture, and planting design.
Current research interests: exploiting native plants for ornamental and floricultural use (propagation/micropropagation and growth manipulation), exploiting endangered plants for. (propagation/micropropagation and growth manipulation).
Over 40 publications (in Scopus 15 articles, 88 citation, h index 4). Supervisor of 3 M.Sc. theses and over 300 undergraduate dissertations. Coordinator/Member of 4 funded research programs.
