Panagiotis Prezerakos has graduated the Nursing Department, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens on 1992 and the MSc. Course in Health Services Management, University of London on 1995. He holds Ph.D from the Faculty of Nursing, N&K University of Athens, since 2000, in the field of Health Services Management titled: “Efficiency of the Hellenic NHS Hospitals within Diagnosis Related Groups”.

From 1989 has worked as a RN in ICU of the General Hospital of Chest Diseases of Athens “SOTIRIA” and since 1996 has been occupied as responsible for Life Long Learning activities for nursing personnel of the same hospital. During 1998-2001 has worked as the Scientific Director of the Vocational Training Center of the same hospital and since 2002 has been employed as Manager of the Kyparissia’s General Hospital. During 2004-2006 held the position of Manager – General Director of 2nd Regional Health Authority of Attica and during the period from 9/2019 to 12/2021 has worked as Secretary General of Public Health, Greek Ministry of Health.

Since the academic year 2005-06 he was working at the Nursing Department, University of Peloponnese as Assistant Professor (PD 407/80), while he was responsible for the syllabi of courses of the Postgraduate Studies Programms of the University of Peloponnese and the N&K University of Athens on Health Services Management. On July of 2009 was elected as an Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department, University of Peloponnese, in the unit of “Nursing Services Management-Modules of Nursing Care”. He was holding the position of the Associate Professor since August 2014 and at the present time he holds the position of the Professor in the same University as well as the position of the Dean of the School of Health Sciences during the period 9/2022-2/2023.

Since 1992 till present he has participated as a lecturer or coordinator in quite a lot (~160) of international and national conferences. His research (25 projects) and writing activities (112 papers in international and national journals with review), during the same period, refer to the field of Nursing Services Management, Health Services Management, Economic Evaluation, Human Resources Management and Health Care Modules.
