History - Location of the department
▶ The Department is newly founded. It has been operating since 2019 according to Law No 4610/2019 (Government Gazette 70/issue A’/2019). It combines modern management science with new technologies (informatics, communications).
▶ It is a part of the School of Economics and Technology and is located in Tripoli, where the main campus of the University of the Peloponnese is situated.
▶ It consists of seven Teaching and Research Staff members (DEP), one Special Laboratory Teaching Staff member (EEDIP), one Administrative Staff member and one member who is posted from the secondary education sector
Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies
The undergraduate curriculum is designed to prepare top corporate and organisation executives, who will be capable of dealing successfully with the complexity of modern and future technological, economic and social challenges.
Aims of the curriculum
▶ To provide a curriculum on management science and technology, which will inspire and guide its students.
▶ To develop the students’ skills on expressing complex arguments, analysing practical issues, critical thinking, quantitative techniques, mathematical abilities and successful communication, by using a variety of educational processes.
▶ To provide students with important knowledge and skills for their development into capable professionals.
▶ To off er a great variety of courses to students, which will provide them with a wide knowledge on management science and technology.
▶ To fuel the interests and academic needs of each and every student.
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
Aſter the completion of the curriculum, the student:
▶ will know how to combine the knowledge on management science, management and new technologies, as well as critically evaluate their practical application.
▶ will comprehend any management, technological, economic and social challenges that businesses and organisations deal with worldwide, will face their complexity successfully, and use analytical methods and techniques, so that they can eff ectively make functional and strategic
decisions.
▶ will recognise, schematise and solve management problems through critical thinking.
▶ will be able to demonstrate leadership, management and business skills, so that they can play a decisive role in future businesses and organisations.
▶ will demonstrate an innovative and business stance towards the recognition of chances and deal with modern business challenges.
Skills
The curriculum aims to provide students with the skills of critical thinking, quantitative thinking, problem solving, communication, specialised knowledge and practical application. In particular, aſter the completion of the curriculum, students will be able to:
▶ apply management science to everyday technological problems.
▶ apply management science and technology for the evaluation of policy suggestions.
▶ understand the role of hypotheses and the impact of policy suggestions.
▶ use quantitative data in combination with management models, in order to evaluate the validity of theories and policies.
▶ collect data by means of appropriate research methods.
▶ suggest specifi c solutions in management and technological problems.
▶ deepen critical thinking and analytical skills on specialised fi elds of management science, and apply them to complex problems.
▶ work individually as well as in teams.
▶ lead and coordinate working groups with the aim of problem solving, constant improvement of processes and introduction of innovations in the workplace.
In order to gain the degree, students have to successfully complete forty-two (42) courses in total. The courses consist of thirty (30) Compulsory (C) and Compulsory Elective (CE) courses, six (6) major and three (3) minor courses, as well as three (3) Elective courses.
Compulsory courses
The curriculum consists of thirty (30) C and CE core courses, which introduce students to the fundamental concepts of Management Science, Economics and Information Technologies. This means that during the fi rst fi ve (5) semesters, only C and CE courses (27 courses in total) are taking place, while three (3) C courses more are taking place during the 6th, 7th and 8th semester respectively.
Specialisation and Free Elective Courses
Specialisation and elective courses determine the curriculum from the 6th semester until its completion. At the beginning of the 6th semester, students choose major and minor direction of specialisation, thus acquiring deep knowledge and experience.

The curriculum meets the standards of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). The academic obligation of students is to accumulate a total of 240 ECTS-credits.
Postgraduate Studies
In cooperation with the Department of Agriculture at the University of the Peloponnese, there is a Joint Postgraduate Studies programme (JPPS) operating with the title “ΜΒΑ in Agri-food Sector.

Modern organisations and businesses are active within a dynamic and constantly changing environment, where technology is a basic pillar of their management and operation. Today, corporate and NGO members, as well as members of the public sector and social economy need combined

The graduates of the Department of Management Science and Technology enrol as members of the Economic Chamber of Greece.
Research
Teaching and Research Staff members (DEP) as well as Special Laboratory Teaching Staff members (EEDIP) of the Department have a great experience in competing for and realising Research Projects funded by the European Union, the The Department of Management Science and Technology, aſt er organising its Doctoral Studies, it takes a step further by organising Post-Doctoral Studies, and as of 2022, it will welcome its first
post-doctoral students.
